The Petrified Forest 1999, Painted Desert and Meteor Crater.
On the Memorial Day Weekend, we tripped to the Petrified Forest, Painted Desert and
Meteor Crator. The petrified forest was much as Mom and Dad had remembered it.
The painted desert really impressed the boys. We took some great "to scale" pictures
which will have to wait on the next revision of the web site to see.
The wind at the Meteor Crater was gusting to around 50 mph. You really
had to hold onto the hand rail. Below is an artist's rendition of the
impact as it happened.
